Like I said in my last post, a lot has been going on recently. Just a few weekends ago we had the chance to visit the Museum of Ice Cream while it was still in LA. Okay, so our visit was not by “chance.” I was literally on my computer the second they added additional tickets to this place because they completely sold out the first time around. If you didn’t know, the Museum of Ice Cream was the place to be this summer in LA and with all the hype surrounding it we just had to go.
So, was it worth it?? Continue reading “THE SKINNY ON THE MUSEUM OF ICE CREAM”
Currently sitting here downing a cup of coffee just trying to stay awake because this morning we were up bright and early. When I say “bright and early” I am talking like 6:30 am, which for this momma, may as well have been 4 am. I am not an early riser so for me to get up at that time it has to be for something special. Which was exactly the case because today we went to check out the Space Shuttle Endeavour at the California Science Center! In just a few hours I am going to be in Palm Desert, sipping, lounging, and of course chasing my little ones in and out of the pool. As of today, I am in total VACATION MODE. Never mind work, cleaning, and packing, which I am dreading the most! What is it about packing when you have children that make it exciting, daunting and terrifying all at the same time?? Forget one specific outfit or toy and the vacation is “ruined” according to your six-year-old. I swear she is such a drama queen. Luckily I have a way of combatting such forgetfulness that this momma is so prone too, lists! Yes, before packing I will sit, with a pad of paper and pen in hand, and make a complete list of everything that I need to bring. Shirts, shoes, toothbrush, diapers, wipes, bathing suits, toys…you get the idea. Anyone else write these little vacation packing lists, or is it just me?

June has finally arrived and summer is just around the corner! That being said, I have already begun to plan different activities to keep the kids and I entertained during those long summer days. While we’ll be frequenting the beach and park quite often, I have tried to think of other activities that are both educational and fun. So as a sort of “test run” of said activities, I recently took the girls to visit the Lomita Railroad Museum. While I was super enthusiastic about our impending visit, Hayden (my oldest) didn’t seem to be thrilled with the idea. Lucky for me, her tune changed once we arrived. We currently are experiencing some absolutely gorgeous weather over here in LA and I am loving every minute of it! Of course, with all this warm weather I can’t help but want to be outside. So the other day Holland and I decided to step out and enjoy all the sunshine by taking a little trip to see the Morrell House in Redondo Beach. Continue reading “THE MORRELL HOUSE”
Okay, so I have to admit, this post is mainly for me. It is always fun to look back and see where you have gone and where you want to go. And with everyone already talking about their summer plans, I figured why not share a little inspiration. So today I am going to be giving you a look into some of my past trips and talk about what travel destinations are on my bucket list. If you haven’t already planned your summer excursions, like myself, maybe this can give you that motivation you need. If anything, this may just add a few extra items to your own travel bucket list. Continue reading “MY TRAVEL BUCKET LIST”
So I was sitting here trying to figure out my newest post and decided that I needed some inspiration. Of course, I browsed Instagram, checked Pinterest, and even caught up with my favorite blogs. But for some reason, nothing was coming to me. Casually, I started going through my own photos. Memories started to flood in just from seeing past birthdays, family trips, and little life events and suddenly I was really excited. I guess I had found my inspiration! But it was one past trip in particular that made me stop and feel like I just had to share. So I’m dedicating this post to the travel bug I just got reminiscing about our trip to the Grand Canyon. Continue reading “OUR 2014 TRIP TO THE GRAND CANYON”
About time, right?! I know, I have been seriously lagging…again. But in my defense, I am just getting over a slight cold and recently just started a new job! So I’ve been a bit preoccupied and haven’t even thought about writing. But this post is long over-due. With the baby currently napping, I figure why not take advantage of the quiet time. Continue reading “DOWNTOWN L.A.”
A few weeks before all the storms decided to take over California, we were experiencing the best weather here in LA. The temperature was moderate (not too hot or cold), the sky was super clear, and the sunsets were the best I had ever seen. Not wanting to waste such a beautiful day, I decided one Sunday to do some local sightseeing. So I called up my sister, packed up baby, and headed straight for the coast. We found a particularly nice spot on the cliffs of Palos Verdes that had stunning views of Catalina Island and the Southbay. As we meandered along the coast, just talking and catching up, we stumbled upon a little neighborhood church hugging the cliff’s edge. I was immediately drawn to the church’s architecture, so we decided to explore the grounds. Continue reading “YOU, ME, AND THE SEA”

Now that the kiddies are officially on Winter break here in LA, I’ve had to plan a few extra special outing just to keep my little ones from going stir crazy. Although the weather has been pretty cold here, to LA standards, the days have been relatively clear and sunny. So I have been trying to incorporate as much of the outdoors as possible. While going to our favorite park is always fun, sometimes we need a little change of atmosphere. Luckily for us, there is a gem of a botanical garden located not too far from our house that we love to visit.
