LOMITA RAILROAD MUSEUM

Railroad-lomita-depot

June has finally arrived and summer is just around the corner! That being said, I have already begun to plan different activities to keep the kids and I entertained during those long summer days. While we’ll be frequenting the beach and park quite often, I have tried to think of other activities that are both educational and fun. So as a sort of “test run” of said activities, I recently took the girls to visit the Lomita Railroad Museum. While I was super enthusiastic about our impending visit, Hayden (my oldest) didn’t seem to be thrilled with the idea. Lucky for me, her tune changed once we arrived. FAMILY NIGHT AT DODGER STADIUM

Dodger-family

If you follow me on Facebook or Instagram, then you already know that this past Thursday we attended our first Dodger game of the season. It was also a memorable night because it was Holland’s very first game ever! Kind of a big deal for us since it’s become a little family tradition.  Continue reading “FAMILY NIGHT AT DODGER STADIUM”

MOMMY MUST HAVES: BEACH ESSENTIALS

MOMMY MUST HAVES-

So last time on my “Mommy Must Haves” series I shared my top swimsuits for this upcoming summer (if you missed it you can find it here). Well, this time I am going to continue our summer accessories discussion by covering beach essentials. If you live in Southern California then you know that summer and beach days go together like lemons and lemonade. You really can’t have one without the other. But I understand that as a mother with two little ones, having a beach day isn’t as easy as throwing on your bikini and grabbing your towel. Nowadays this fun little activity involves some planning and even packing. So with summer quickly approaching, I figured why not share my top beach essentials and make your planning that much less of a headache. So whether your plans involve hitting the beach or just taking a trip to the nearest lake or river, these are some products you are not going to want to leave home without.

Let’s get started! Continue reading “MOMMY MUST HAVES: BEACH ESSENTIALS”

THE MORRELL HOUSE

Redondo-Beach-Morrell.jpg

We currently are experiencing some absolutely gorgeous weather over here in LA and I am loving every minute of it! Of course, with all this warm weather I can’t help but want to be outside. So the other day Holland and I decided to step out and enjoy all the sunshine by taking a little trip to see the Morrell House in Redondo Beach. Continue reading “THE MORRELL HOUSE”

SMALL STEPS TOWARD A HEALTHIER DIET

food-habits

Growing up I had the absolutely worst diet. If it wasn’t Top Ramen, chicken, or cheese odds are I wouldn’t eat it. I practically hated everything, especially vegetables. But for some reason soon after I had Hayden, my first born, my palette changed. I started to enjoy and even crave some of the food I disliked growing up. Fast-forward to today and my eating habits have done a complete 360.  Continue reading “SMALL STEPS TOWARD A HEALTHIER DIET”

7 LITTLE-KNOWN FACTS ABOUT THE GETTY VILLA

getty-villa-fountain.jpg

Many people are aware of the Getty Museum, but not too many people know that there are in fact TWO. While the Getty Center (the beautiful, gigantic white structure just off the 405) is one of the most popular museums in L.A., the Getty Villa, in Malibu, is the original “Getty Museum.” Located just off P.C.H., the Villa houses the Getty’s collection of ancient Greek, Roman, and Etruscan art. A multi-level and immersive experience, the Getty Villa is unlike any other museum found in Los Angeles.  Continue reading “7 LITTLE-KNOWN FACTS ABOUT THE GETTY VILLA”

DOWNTOWN L.A.

Downtown-LA-

About time, right?! I know, I have been seriously lagging…again. But in my defense, I am just getting over a slight cold and recently just started a new job! So I’ve been a bit preoccupied and haven’t even thought about writing. But this post is long over-due. With the baby currently napping, I figure why not take advantage of the quiet time.   Continue reading “DOWNTOWN L.A.”
