REDONDO BEACH HISTORIC LIBRARY

I feel like we are already in the dog-days of summer and our break just started! It’s already July and I don’t even have a decent tan yet! Haha. Anyways, the other day I took the girl to a local park that sits just above the beach. It was such a beautiful day; Sunny, warm, cloudless sky, and just a slight ocean breeze. It couldn’t have been more perfect. Continue reading “REDONDO BEACH HISTORIC LIBRARY”

THE MORRELL HOUSE

Redondo-Beach-Morrell.jpg

We currently are experiencing some absolutely gorgeous weather over here in LA and I am loving every minute of it! Of course, with all this warm weather I can’t help but want to be outside. So the other day Holland and I decided to step out and enjoy all the sunshine by taking a little trip to see the Morrell House in Redondo Beach. Continue reading “THE MORRELL HOUSE”

MY TRAVEL BUCKET LIST

travel-world-map

Okay, so I have to admit, this post is mainly for me. It is always fun to look back and see where you have gone and where you want to go. And with everyone already talking about their summer plans, I figured why not share a little inspiration. So today I am going to be giving you a look into some of my past trips and talk about what travel destinations are on my bucket list. If you haven’t already planned your summer excursions, like myself, maybe this can give you that motivation you need. If anything, this may just add a few extra items to your own travel bucket list.  Continue reading “MY TRAVEL BUCKET LIST”

OUR 2014 TRIP TO THE GRAND CANYON

grand-canyon-viewsSo I was sitting here trying to figure out my newest post and decided that I needed some inspiration. Of course, I browsed Instagram, checked Pinterest, and even caught up with my favorite blogs. But for some reason, nothing was coming to me. Casually, I started going through my own photos. Memories started to flood in just from seeing past birthdays, family trips, and little life events and suddenly I was really excited. I guess I had found my inspiration! But it was one past trip in particular that made me stop and feel like I just had to share. So I’m dedicating this post to the travel bug I just got reminiscing about our trip to the Grand Canyon. OUR TOP 5 FAVORITE PARKS

favorite-park-sis1.jpg

Now that I have two little ones running around, the house has been more chaotic than ever. With their boundless energy, I’ve had to figure out ways to keep both of them occupied. But with Holland just walking and Hayden already being a “big girl,” finding a medium that is fun and entertaining for them both can be a little difficult. Luckily, we live close to some really cool parks that have helped keep me sane and these little girls busy.   Continue reading “OUR TOP 5 FAVORITE PARKS”

THROWBACK! OUR TRIP TO THE GREYSTONE MANSION

Greystone-mansion-beverlyhills.jpgAnnnnd… I’m back! I feel like it has been forever since my last post. I’ve been in a bit of a slump lately, as far as creativity, but I am going to power through it! So in hopes of getting these creative juices flowing, I’m bringing #ThrowbackThursday from the ‘gram to my blog by revisiting our trip to the Greystone Mansion!  Continue reading “THROWBACK! Now that the kiddies are officially on Winter break here in LA, I’ve had to plan a few extra special outing just to keep my little ones from going stir crazy. Although the weather has been pretty cold here, to LA standards, the days have been relatively clear and sunny. So I have been trying to incorporate as much of the outdoors as possible.  While going to our favorite park is always fun, sometimes we need a little change of atmosphere. Luckily for us, there is a gem of a botanical garden located not too far from our house that we love to visit.

The Huntington Library has quickly become one of our all-time favorite museums here in Los Angeles. Not only do we get to view art but also the various botanical gardens allow the little ones a chance to run wild and explore. We have already visited multiple times and have yet to see all that the Huntington has to offer, which is probably the reason why we have come to love it so much. So if you are in the LA area and can’t think of anything to do, here are some reasons why you should check it out! Continue reading “THE HUNTINGTON LIBRARY, ART COLLECTION, AND BOTANICAL GARDENS”

POINT FERMIN LIGHTHOUSE

img_0538

For many years the Point Fermin Lighthouse has been at the top of my list as “one of the places I need to visit.” I have always been interested in history, so naturally I gravitated to this historic structure. Yet having always lived so close, literally down the street, I tended to always put off my visit, until recently. One day, on a whim, I decided to catch a tour not really knowing what I was in store for. Luckily everything worked out well but if you are not the type of person to be so spontaneous, here is what you need to know as a first time visitor.   Continue reading “POINT FERMIN LIGHTHOUSE”

ROCKETSHIP PARK

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetIs it just me, or do any other mothers out there dread hearing: “Mom what are we doing today??” Without fail that is the question I get asked every weekend from my oldest daughter Hayden. I’ll be honest, most of the time my answer is “I don’t know” or even better “It’s too early leave me alone.”
